Brooklyn leader Kevin Durant believes he could have avoided the knee injury he suffered on Jan. 8 with Miami forward Jimmy Butler.


I am late. I watched all the moments in which I received such an injury. On that episode, Seth Curry was defending against Jimmy Butler in the post and I had to go out on a safety net instead of slowly going out of the paint.


I just stood and watched, I didn`t even take care of my player, I didn`t find contact with anyone. I should have run out as a backup to help Seth against Jimmy. Then maybe it wouldn`t have happened, " Durant admitted.


The star basketball player will miss at least another two weeks due to a sprain of the medial lateral ligament in his right knee.
