Rafael Nadal, the world No. 1, kept his chances of qualifying for the semifinals of the ATP Final Tournament. In his last game of the Andre Agassi Group, the Spaniard beat the already ranked Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas with 6:7 (4), 6:4, 7:5. So Rafa temporarily tops the group standings, but his continuation depends on the result of the last matchfrom the group - Daniel Medvedev - Alexander Zverev. Medvedev`s victory will rank Nadal in the next phase, and Zverev`s success will send Nadal to the third position in the group. The Bjorn Borg Group has already qualified for the semifinals of Dominic Team and Roger Federer.

There was not a single break point in the first set and a tiebreaker was inevitable. In it Tsitsipas made a mini breakthrough in the first point, and shortly thereafter led with 4:2. Nadal equalized for 4:4, but the next three points were won by the 21-year-old Greek, who thus fought for the first set.

In the course of the second part, Nadal began to squeeze Tsitsipas into the Greek submission, and the young man eventually failed. In the ninth game Nadal made his fourth break point in the set, and after the first break in the duel he closed the part with his own opening punch.

In the crucial third set, Tsitsipas did wonders of bravery to prevent a breakthrough. And just when it looked like the Greek was close to a minimum timbre, Nadal broke it. At 5:5 Nadal showed his incredible ability to earn points from impossible positions. After a great backhand diagonally on Cicipas, the Spaniard responded with an even more devastating blow, after which the ball landed on the line and brought the 19th Grand Slam winner a breakthrough point. In the end, Nadal battled for the breakthrough, and that proved decisive for the left-hander`s victory, which happened after almost 3 hours of play.

Tsitsipas scored 11 aces (Nadal placed 6), but the Greek tennis player never made a breakthrough in the entire match. Despite the defeat, Tsitsipas will in the worst case take second place in the group, while Nadal is dependent on the result in the last match predicted by soccer predictions of the group stage of this year`s edition of the tournament.
